Getting your Invalid Emails and Mailing Address report

Rocket Referrals will run each of your customer's email address past a third party service to validate them. We run these email addresses to make sure they are correct so the system doesn't send emails to invalid email addresses, causing your email reputation to suffer. 

There are two ways to know if there are email addresses that are invalid in your Rocket Referrals account. 

Enter the Setup Tab and scroll down to Reports/Downloads



Click Invalid Contact Emails and Mailing Address



Clicking the link will send an email to your inbox with a download link for the file.


Interpreting your report

The error is located in Column A
The reason the error occurred is located in Column B



Unsubscribe:
This error comes up when a customer receives an email from Rocket Referrals and chooses not to receive any more. Each of the emails sent from Rocket Referrals will include an Unsubscribe link. Once a customer chooses to unsubscribe, all email communication will be stopped from going out to that customer. 

Server Rejected: This means when Rocket Referrals sent an email to a customer, their server rejected the email.  A few reasons why a server may reject an email is because they have your domain marked as spam, the customer's inbox is full, or the customer's email company has a special filter. 

Incorrect Email Address:
This error comes up when the email address that is entered into Rocket Referrals is incorrect. For example, a spelling issue or missing any type of punctuation.

Email Account Invalid:
This error comes up when the third party service cannot validate an email account. For example, when an account cannot be located or an address is spelled incorrectly. 

Email Domain Invalid:
This error means that the domain that the email address is associated with is invalid. This could be caused because of a misspelling of a domain or the domain doesn't exist.


Alternative way of viewing invalid email addresses

Enter the Communications tab



If there is a red error sign under the Scheduled folder that means the system has recently tried to send a card to a customer and the mailing address was flagged with an error and was not able to be sent out.

Select the Scheduled Folder



Use the Errors filter to select to see Only Errors



Hover over "Can't Send" and an error message will be displayed.



One important thing to remember is that Rocket Referrals is not responsible for putting errors on these communications and stopping them from going out. We use a third party service to make sure all email addresses are correct within your account. Here are a few steps you can take to correct an email address if it has an error: 

Make sure the spelling of the email address is correct. This includes the domain.
Make sure that the customer does not have your email marked as spam.
Make sure that the customer has rocketreferrals.com whitelisted.
Make sure that the customer's email inbox is not full.
